Dr. Toni Kaplan, clinical psychologist, was thrilled when she learned of the Women’s Divorce Resource Center. “Women need these services. So many can be emotionally overwhelmed while facing the challenges of divorce and this can interfere with making sound decisions.” When Dr. Kaplan was asked to present for the WDRC, she eagerly accepted.
“This WDRC gives women expert advice and support for every facet of divorce—legal, emotional, financial,” Dr. Kaplan said. “And I’ve watched women go through the workshop. They gain clarity with each bit of new knowledge. Witnessing that empowerment is incredible.”
The WDRC hosts workshops every other month focusing on the legal, emotional, and financial aspects of a divorce. In addition, special topic programs are presented regularly. October’s special event is Dr. Kaplan’s presentation, “Healing Your Divorce: How Not to Make the Same Mistakes.”
“I’ll be sharing with women how to improve their chance at having a successful love relationship after a divorce,” she said. “They’ll learn which factors make second marriages fail and we’ll go over communication skills that really improve you and your significant other’s relationship.”
Dr. Kaplan’s practice is in Farmington Hills where she works with adults and adolescents in private, couple’s, or group therapy. Her specialties are in couple’s therapy, in which she is a certified Imago Relationship Therapist, and in adolescents coping with parents’ divorces. Dr. Kaplan can be reached at email@example.com for questions.
Dr. Kaplan’s presentation is on October 17th from 6:30pm-8:00pm. It is being held at the Bloomfield Township Public Library (1099 Lone Pine Road at Telegraph and Lone Pine). There is no charge for this program, thanks to the generous support of our sponsor, Carri Goldring of Union Home Mortgage.
